Last week, cousin Deb organized a picnic/gathering for some of her friends and their kids, at the
Clemyjontri Park in McLean, VA. She invited us to join and we were happy to. We enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day and amazing food at this incredible park. The park, really more of a state of the art playground, allows children of ALL abilities to play side-by-side. They describe themselves as being, "a place where children who use wheelchairs, walkers or braces, or who have sensory or developmental disabilities, can have a parallel playground experience of fun and exploration." All I could think when I walked up to it is, "My brother would love this place." He is a physical education teacher with a licensure in developmental and adapted physical education.
We had a wonderful time exploring the play area, eating delicious food (characteristic of any gathering cousin Deb plans - pita bread with hummus, blue cheese chicken wraps, pasta salad, lemon bundt cake, cookies, lemonade, etc.), and hanging out together. It was so fun to watch all the kids enjoying themselves!
