On Sunday, May 22nd, we visited
Sky Meadows State Park, our second Virginia State Park (trying to make good use of the Virginia State Parks pass BJ and Sarah gave us for Christmas). The park is less than an hour drive west of where we live, on the eastern side of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our family of three (plus to pup pups) were joined by our friend, Joel Gichinga. We met Joel at The Falls Church, a few months after moving to Falls Church, VA. He had recently relocated to the area, so we became quick friends. We recently learned we shared a love for the outdoors and hiking, so we planned a day to get away and explore the beauty of Northern Virginia. Joel is a really fascinating guy who loves the Lord deeply. It is very easy to be around him. We had a great time together at a really beautiful place.

| We made it! |
| The first part of our hike took us through a field...with cows...and cow pies. |
| This may be the cutest picture of our son...of all time! |
| Jed was trying to capture me swatting at all the gnats. |
| Such gorgeous scenery! |

| View from the top...our very own "Paris View" |

| Group shot - Hosea pulled my hair right as we took the picture - awesome |
| Hosea was so tired as we neared the end of our hike, that he fell asleep awkwardly in the Kelty carrier |
| He then woke up screaming...so Mama fed him and carried him the rest of the way so he could rest comfortably |
| Taking in the beauty |
