January-April 2012

We had many visitors during our first few months in Fresno, which was such a blessing.  We also got to take a few weekend getaways (most with our visiting family) to Yosemite, San Francisco, and Kings Canyon/Giant Sequoias.  The months of February and May brought us heartache, as Bethany experienced two pregnancies, both ending in miscarriage.    

Our first trip to Yosemite National Park - we are so thankful to be just a short drive from this amazing place!

On February 16, 2012 we found out we were pregnant with a second baby.  We lost the baby on February 27.  Our hearts were grieved.

As part of our new role in Community Care at Peoples Church, we organized a service day to Rescue the Children, a new project of the Fresno Rescue Mission.  It was a wonderful day!

Weekend getaway to San Franciso to spend time with Jed's long-time friends, Ben & Joanna Stacke (who were visiting San Fran from New York City) & Sharif & Vanessa Khaleel, who live in San Mateo, CA - Hosea is obsessed with street signs...especially "curvy road" signs

Jed's mom (Hosea's Nana) visited us in late February 2012 - we made a trip to Yosemite and had a delicious and beautiful lunch in the historical Ahwahnee Dining room.

In early March 2012, Bethany's parents visited - a trip to the zoo is always a blast with Hosea!

Bethany's parents managed to deconstruct, pack, and carry along a classic "Greyhound" red wagon that Bethany's grandparents had.  Here are Gramps and Daddy assmebling it - so funny to watch!

Thanks to Great Grandma & Great Grandpa for the wagon!  Hosea loves it!  Thanks to Gramps & Grandma for bringing it to Fresno.

Cousin Deb and cousin Cam came to visit us the end of March - we took a trip to see the Giant Sequoias and Hume Lake while they were visiting, which was a gorgeous trip!

We are so thrilled to have a garden in our backyard!  Hosea and Daddy began the planting process in early April.

We have really enjoyed exploring Fresno and are particularly excited about the things that are happening to revitalize the downtown areas of Fresno.

Our sweet little boy - Hosea is a big fan of anything "ball" related. 

Hosea has an affinity for baseball.  To him, all stick like objects (pencils, forks, knives, brooms, etc.) are bats and any round object he can thrwo is a baseball.  Here, Hosea is attending his first Fresno Grizzlies (AAA-baseball team) game.  HE LOVED IT! We couldn't believe that our 21 month old could sit through nearly an entire baseball game.  He was completely engrossed! 

We went to the Grizzlies game while Grandma was visiting us (the end of April 2012) - thanks for taking us, Grandma!

May 7, 2012 - we found out we were pregnant with our third baby.  We lost the baby on May 16th.  These two losses have been difficult for us, but we are so thankful our babies are with their Creator.
